Our Approach to Tarbiyyah

Tarbiyyah is at the heart of everything we do. We focus on the holistic development of each child, ensuring they grow in a positive, caring, and respectful environment. At Little Wonders, tarbiyyah includes:

Character Building: Through stories, discussions, and role modeling, we help children learn important Islamic values like kindness, honesty, patience, and respect for others.
Positive Habits: We teach good habits from an early age, such as gratitude (saying “Alhamdulillah”), sharing, and being gentle. These small acts, repeated daily, help children internalise key Islamic values.
Daily Routines with Islamic Etiquette: Practicing salaam greetings, we make sure Islamic manners and etiquettes are woven into our daily routines in a way that is meaningful and joyful for the children.

Fostering Islamiyah Knowledge and Understanding

We believe that developing an understanding of Islamiyah from an early age lays a strong foundation for future Islamic education. At Little Wonders, we integrate Islamiyah in a child-friendly, engaging way that encourages curiosity and love for Islam:

Basic Islamic Knowledge: We introduce foundational teachings such as the five pillars of Islam, Prophet stories, and simple duas (supplications). These are taught through stories and visual aids that are age-appropriate and engaging.
Learning and Reciting Short Surahs: With gentle encouragement, we help children learn and recite short surahs from the Quran, fostering a love for the words of Allah and building confidence in recitation.
Islamic Celebrations and Milestones: We observe Islamic events such as Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha, helping children understand their significance through crafts, stories, and celebrations that bring these blessed times to life.

Encouraging Parental Partnership in Tarbiyyah

We understand that parents are a child’s first teachers, and nurturing Islamic values at home is as important as it is at the nursery. To support this partnership, we:

Share resources and tips to help parents integrate tarbiyyah practices into daily routines.
Provide Islamiyah activities, such as dua cards or simple Quranic stories, that parents can enjoy with their children at home.
Host family-friendly events and workshops focused on practical ways to encourage faith-based development in young children.
